Public Affairs Committee
Public Affairs Committee was established in 2008 immediately after election of the new board, which decided that BCCL must more actively use its rights to participate in law making process thereby promoting a mutually advantageous cooperation between BCCL and state institutions, which would strengthen the rule of law in Latvia.
The Committee has signed a cooperation memorandum with the Cabinet of Ministers. It will enable the BCCL to participate in different levels of law making process, from appointing its representatives to working groups elaborating certain legal acts to participation in meetings of State secretaries.
BCCL plans to pay special attention to establishing a close and open working relationship with the State secretaries.
