Membership committee
The Membership Committee’s main role is to look after the membership of the British Chamber of Commerce in Latvia – this includes our existing members and our potential future members. The committee was formed with the responsibility to react to the needs of members and to help meet their membership expectations. In doing so, we stay keenly aware of the stakeholders of the BCCL.
In 2008 the Membership Committee was instrumental in attracting some high level and educational speakers and recruiting potential members to attend our events. We believe that the networking possibilities for everyone are enhanced with the participation of new contacts and companies.
The Membership Committee played a key part in defining the Unique Selling Points of the Chamber and played a key role in developing the 2009 Vision Statement of the BCCL:
The BCCL is the largest foreign chamber of commerce in Latvia that has grown to represent business from all over the world. We have stayed true to our fundamental business values while at the same time have maintained close ties with the British Embassy. In our membership are some of the largest foreign investors, some of Latvia’s largest companies, powerful British and international brands, and successful small and medium enterprises. Our goal is to provide members with services and information to strengthen their competitiveness in the local and international market. Our aim is to promote and facilitate reputable business relationships in a social and enjoyable environment. Who said you can’t mix business and pleasure?
